King size, please! @perldoc.perl.org
Description:
Keyhole metaphor in action! My display has 1600 pixels in a row, but perldoc.perl.org shows text in a column of 671 pixels wide. This is about 58% of the display width, 42% is wasted for useless margins.
My eyesight is not as good as used to be, so I love large characters now. If I made font size big enough (by pressing
Ctrl+=
), I have one more problem: if enlarged page width does not fit to the browser window, the browser does not reflow the text but shows horizontal scroll bar instead.Let's utilize our displays! Let's kill this stupid fixed-width design!
This style removes most of the borders and margins leaving maximum space for the content. Also, it resets all the font settings, so you will see the page in your favorite font.
Enjoy,
VdB
