A treble bet is a type of accumulator or ‘acca’ bet that joins together 3 single bets or ‘legs’ to form 1 bet. Each leg of a treble must be placed on a different sporting event. With a treble bet, your selected stake covers all 3 of your selections. For example, if you placed 3 £5 singles on 3 different events, your stake would be £15. With a treble bet, your stake would be just £5 for all 3 events. Your chances of any return are lower as all 3 selections need to win, but the returns are higher if your bet comes in. By Richard Hartley Jnr Betting on trebles is easy to understand but very difficult to find success with. It is important to know that betting trebles on one sport are not exactly the same as betting on trebles with another sport. For some sports like football and Tennis, we believe accumulators can be used in a strategic way. However, with horse and greyhound racing we believe treble bets are too risky and don't reward good selections.
