This is an adaptation of Firefox 3: Better Tabs meant to be used in conjunction with my other style, userstyles's userstyles's Pure Reader - a clean beautiful GoogleReader style.

It further slims down the navigation and tab bars, and curves the bottom corners of tabs into a pleasing, streamlined shape.

When installed together with userstyles's userstyles's Pure Reader - a clean beautiful GoogleReader style, it reduces the combined height of the navigation and tab bars by about a third, leaving you with more screen real estate.

I also centered URLs within the navigation bar, as I just think it looks better next to the centered tab titles in the tab bar, but if you prefer the conventional left alignment, simply delete "text-align:center!important;" from the first line beginning "#urlbar".

The "After" screenshot below shows what your navigation and tab bars will look like with both this style and userstyles's userstyles's Pure Reader - a clean beautiful GoogleReader style installed. foxiFrame basic is also necessary to hide the title / caption bar.
