Some notes and infos you may like to know...
Actually the 'gType' formats are the attachments zone and I'm aware of 14 different format types that Google use/name.
In this next list are the ones I make a choice to use an icon:...
- "Android Package" ------> apk
- "Excel" ----------------> xls
- "PDF" ------------------> pdf
- "PowerPoint" -----------> ppt
- "Rich Text" ------------> rtf
- "Text" -----------------> txt
- "vCard" ----------------> vcf
- "Windows Media Player" -> wmv
- "Word" -----------------> doc
- "XML" ------------------> xml
...and this next one I chose not to:...
"Compressed Archive"
"Google Docs"
"Image"
"Video"
...I don't use any icon on those because they serve too many different extensions types and that may be a bit misleading, eg: in "Image" a PNG, JPG, GIF, and more will all present the same icon; or they serve a very specific type like the "Google Docs" that probably there isn't a local icon for.
