MetaFilter: Signika / Open Sans restyle

Added by Quilford@userstyles, Created: Oct 07, 2014, Updated: Oct 07, 2014

Description:

Changes Source Sans Pro to Open Sans and Montserrat to Signika, along with a good few other readability fixes. Also adds scanlines back to the header. I strongly recommend using this in conjunction with http://freestyler.ws/style/100285/metafilter-remove-byline-shading Works in both light and dark mode. You will need to install the fonts http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/signika and http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/open-sans or change them in the CSS to something else.

More info
As well as changing typefaces, this style:
- adds scanlines to the header
- removes excessive whitespace around bylines
- removes the new custom text selection colours
The cumulative effect on readability is quite notable, I think.

If you don't like any of these changes, the code responsible is clearly marked out in the source for you to excise easily.

If you see any bugs / inconsistencies, shoot me a MeFi Mail.

You should to add comment and rate the style.
