Google Calendar - just the grid, darker
Description:
The basic color is grey: bluish-grey for weekdays, greenish-grey for weekends, reddish-grey for 'Today' (so very "rgb"). The style also removes the background stripe and rounds the corners a bit for the all-day events (to make it look more like the old Calendar UI). Font sizes are a little larger for the date numbers, day names, and month name in the navigation bar as well as the 'Calendar' ('Refresh' link). The style includes code to support Calendar's 'Week starts on' setting for Sunday (default), Monday, and Saturday.

About LCD flat-panels and color-brightness perception: If you--as did I until recently--have your LCD monitor positioned such that the top of it is at about eye-level--which means you're looking down at the screen (especially the bottom part), then all of the colors will look "brighter" (even washed out near the bottom) than they're probably supposed to. If, however, you raise the monitor enough to move "eye-level" to about the middle of the screen (or even the bottom), then colors will look noticeably darker (perhaps "truer", perhaps not). Anyway, after I raised my monitor a few inches, I found that I needed to brighten the background of the cells by a half-step to keep them from looking too dark. Therefore, I'll probably being updating the style for that alone in one of the near-future updates.
Warning(?), 11/27: I'm told that Google has changed something recently in Calendar which makes my style look all "weird" (and broken). I haven't seen it yet with my account, but I guess I will soon enough (at which point I'll look at fixing it). Till then, well, that's Google. Update, 11/28: The person reporting the problem says that now the problem is gone--so maybe Google simply messed something up, and now it's been fixed (all the better for me).
Latest features (11/21/2012)...
- reverse-image the current month date numbers to differentiate them from non-month numbers
- hide the #nav panel but with a "tab" which you can hover to slide it into view (and something similar with the search box at the top of the page)
Updates11/26/2012 - Added some styling for the Year View lab - centered by default, plus an option or two which you can enable by uncommenting its code segment (make it larger, color the weekend background, etc.); the code is currently at the bottom of the style.
11/25/2012 - Added some styling for the right-hand-side gadgets panel (Tasks, etc.).
11/24/2012 - Added a "mini-style" at the bottom of this style which changes the background colors for the morning and night hours (before 7am and after 7pm) in the Day and Week views; you have to edit the code to enable it (instructions in the code). Made a few minor visual adjustments.
11/22/2012 - Changed the time "label" colors a bit and added some default colors when not using the 'Hide morning and night' lab.
11/21/2012 - Added some styling for the Day and Week views (not much since I don't really use them)--more useful if you use the 'Hide morning and night' lab (possibly the most useful lab Google provides for Calendar). There are a few places in the code where you can uncomment some code segments to do some possibly useful things (but that's up to you).
11/12/2012 - Should be "up-to-date" with fixes for now (fingers crossed). Still have another "feature" or two to add (see "
Coming attractions...Latest features (11/21/2012)" above), but I'll wait awhile before doing that (and no doubt breaking something else).11/11/2012(2) - Changed things around some (the title background color is no longer darker than the cell background by default, but you can edit the code to re-enable it). It also should no longer alter any elements on the event editing page.
11/11/2012 - Cleaned up the code some. Added an option in the code for the Calendar 'Week starts on' setting (Sunday, Monday, or Saturday); 'Sunday' is the default. Added another option to make the title background color the same as the cell background color (instead of it being a little darker).

There seems to be a slight problem with the Today cell and weekends that I didn't notice before.OK, it seems to work correctly now for both weekdays and weekend days.First install FreeStyler to use this style.
